Red Wine Reduction Sauce

  1/2 - 1 Cup

Instructions

Step 1: Prep
  Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a sauce pan over medium-high heat.
  Peel and dice shallot.

Step 2: Saute Shallot
  Add shallot to heated sauce pan and cook until golden, 5 minutes.

Step 3: Add Wine
  Reduce heat to medium.   Add wine to sauce pan with shallot.
  Cook, stirring until reduced by half, 3-4 minutes.

Step 4: Add Beef Broth
  Add beef broth to sauce pan.
  Reduce heat to medium-low.
  Simmer until slightly thickened, 5 minutes.

Step 5: Add Butter and Seasoning
  Stir in butter.
  Add Italian seasoning.
  Stir until butter is completely melted, 2-3 minutes.

Step 6: Finish and Serve
  Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
  Spoon sauce over dish and serve.
